About Me

There isn't much to tell about me.. I've been writing poetry for about three years now and it's a great way to express some feelings. People see me as someone who only makes fun and not as a serious type, though I really prefer fun above everything. I also can be serious as in my poems. I also like helping people and like to hear from my readers. Oh and please don't mind my English! I'm Dutch you know.

Write when you just feel like it

Sometimes you don't have any specific thoughts on what to write and most likely it won't be something great. It's more to pass some time. Well then set your mind on go and just flow about anything! Most of the times some sentences are really nice and can be used in other other poems. I have written a lot of poems and let's say 20% of them are actually good. Though the other 80% were great to just write a bit. Later on I combined some of the best sentences of those poems and with those I'd create a new great poem.
You could also edit one of those poems which aren't that great. Just adjusting a few sentences can make a poem about a whole different subject. Take out some mistakes, adjust the flow a bit, add some sentences to it and give it a new title. You might have created a whole new poem!
So start editing some old poems and be amazed.
Good luck!

Never give up!

It's been a while since I wrote here. I can't really explain why. I have been trying to explain why for an hour now, but I just can't. That's why there is nothing else to do then to move on. Hopefully we can agree on that.

In life there will always be times where you think that giving up might be better. It's easier, though not the right option. Giving up is never an option. People have told me to give up a lot of things. I never did. I just kept on trying, moving on and giving it my all. In the end I proved many wrong, there was no need to give up because I did what they said I couldn't do. The same goes for writing. Many may say that your writing isn't good enough even may say it sucks. Then what? Just keep on writing. It only gets better and who says that those saying it sucks aren't just jealous? Many famous people only got famous because they never gave up. That's why you shouldn't give up either.

Inspiration?

Today I had some friends over asking me about my blog. They tried helping me by naming things that could inspire people to write. The first thing they said was weed. It's no secret my friends and I smoke some weed sometimes. It's legal here so what's the problem? As long as you know your limits, right? So they said weed and coming to think of it, it does help you think creative, though really inspiring you to write? I have written enough times under influence of weed and I must say that it helps. The only problem is that you think you're doing a great job, but that may not always be so. Enough times I would read what I wrote the day after and most of the time it's not good at all. Funny is that you will write about the most philosophic questions ever or think of subjects you usually won't think of. That's something great, because when you read it you can start making adjustments and make something good out of it. Then you get an exciting, crazy, perhaps great poem. Here is a poem I wrote when I was under influence : Never This Chill

Now does weed inspire you or not ?
I think it's safe to say it inspires you, but writing when under influence is a different story. Also keep in mind that when you're under influence you won't be in the mood to write. You'll most likely want to sit, laugh and eat.
One last thing, there are many ways to be inspired, try those instead of weed. Especially when it isn't legal!

Vacation!

I didn't mention it before, but I went on vacation in a kind of hurry. I didn't even have the time to leave a post about it! Well, now I'm back and ready to write on.
But first I want to tell you about my great vacation. I went to Hersonissos, one of the best places to party. I went with a group of 8 and we rented this mansion which was awesome. It had everything! When I first saw it I forgot about all the cool parties and stuff in the city. I only wanted to spend my time in that mansion. After we went to the first club those thoughts were all gone. I've met a lot new people and had a lot of fun. If you're planning to go to a cool place to party then that is the place to be! At least in Europe. Oh and The Netherlands of course!

Something really inspiring is a good vacation! Everyone needs to take a vacation once in a while. Relax a bit and get relieved from all that stress. Hopefully you'll be going on vacation soon!

The importance of music

What many of you starting poets don't understand is the importance of music. I don't say that you can't write without, though music is a really good inspiration source. Most people hear at least one song a day! Most likely you hear more songs a day. These songs you hear, somehow influence you. Like when you hear this sad song and it stays in your head, then you most likely will write a sad poem or anything in that direction. Many deny this, but come on. It really does influence you even though you might not notice it directly. So I say why not use this in your advantage. If your sick writing all these sad poems, why not put on a happy song and try writing something then. See what happens and maybe you'll write something happy instead!
Good luck to all and write on!

Hup Holland!

Finally I have some time to add a blog post! Perhaps some soccer fans are reading right now and I would like to tell them that I believe that Holland will win the world cup! So what does this have to do with poetry, inspiration or just anything in this category? Well seeing your country doing well at just anything is something to be inspired by, right? Be inspired by the great things your country does. By great things many people think like helping other countries rebuild and stuff. Though it also can be seeing your country do well in a soccer game and perhaps winning the world cup! Just about anything in short.

My last word is Hup Holland Hup!! Don't be afraid to support your country.

On tour

I have been gone for a while, again. After I got out of the hospital I had 2 days rest and then I got some invitations from all kinds of places to come by and to read my poetry and perform with some of my friends who have a band. So we went on a sort of "tour". Going to 5 cities performing and having fun. It was great! Gaming and checking shops in the morning and partying, performing at night. People loved us and I think we will be going "on tour" more often now! Forgot to tweet in the time we were "on tour" though I was thinking of all you readers. I tried writing some new things, but for some reason I couldn't. Not because there was nothing to inspire me around, but because we were always planning on what to do next and how to get to the next spot. Something that inspired me along the road was people saying how much they liked my work and would be checking the blog more often now. A real morale boost! Also the band was doing great and has gained a lot of fans.
The next time I'll take my laptop along and give you updates on what I'm doing and stuff. Perhaps people in Holland can come and see me then!
So what am I planning to do now? Not much.. perhaps try to write and hang out with my friends. At least that's the plan for the coming 2 days.

Wandering at night

2 days ago I had an argue with my parents that made me so angry that I decided to leave home. So I left home in the middle of the night and went out in search of something better. I wandered the streets of the city and everything was silent. Until I stumbled upon an old man. After a talk with him I went back home and decided to write about this experience. That's what I'm working on now. A poem called An old man. It might not sound that exciting, though I think you'll like to read it when it's done. I'll post it soon!
Finally something to inspire you. Taking a walk at night really does miracles and is perhaps more inspiring then you might have thought. At least it was for me! Try it, enjoy the silence and clear your mind.

Be inspired by teamwork

You can write alone, but also together. Writing together is much more fun, makes it easier to write more in a short period of time and there is more creativity when you write together. You can also learn a lot from each other when writing together. Writing with someone you don't know personally may be strange but you might learn a lot from it. Of course writing with friends or perhaps family is a bit easier because you know each other better. Though when you decide to write together with someone, make sure you're on one line with each other or else you'll only end up fighting.
So write together and inspire each other to write as good as you can!

Be inspired by just listening

Yesterday I was sitting at a bar with some friends. Having a few drinks and laughing a bit. Then I heard these two guys talking kinda loud. So I started listening to what they were saying. They were talking about some deep stuff. About war and why people actually seek war. That inspired me to also write something about war and the real reasons for war. At least from my point of view and perhaps that of many others. So you see that listening to just anyone can inspire you. Of course don't forget that listening to you friends also is a great way to be inspired, but you may have noticed already. One last thing, some people might not like you eavesdropping on their conversation so be careful when you do it and it isn't a real polite thing to do either, but there are enough people who'd love to tell you what they are talking about when you ask!

Be inspired by nature

Another inspiring concept which seems so obvious, though so much people don't let them selves be inspired by nature. Some take a walk a trough a small forest and then say hmh that wasn't really inspiring. Na of course not if you just walk trough. Watching everything around you is what really makes it inspiring, every little thing. There aren't just trees, leafs, grass and perhaps a little bird. No there is so much more! First get your butt of that road! Just walk into the forest, not on a path, make your own path. Then realize what's around you, look at all those little creatures and beautiful plants. How they live, how they survive and how great that is. You'll discover so much more then when you just walk on a path. Doing this alone may be a bit boring if your not such a fan of walking alone trough a forest, so bring a friend. Doing this has brought me onto some nice subjects to write about. Hope it will help you to!

Be inspired by music

I don't have to tell anyone that music can inspire you. It is one of the easiest ways to be inspired and depending on what kind of music you listen, you can write a poem. I mean like when you listen sad music, writing a sad poem will be a lot easier then when listening happy music. At least for most people.

for an instance, I was listening to "Kenna - War in me" and I felt this urge to write. It really inspired me to write a great poem. Perhaps it will inspire you to.

Inspiration to write ?

Many people seem to have a problem finding inspiration. Something that gives you the urge to write. Well I don't see why someone would have any problems finding inspiration to write. Everywhere around you there is something that may inspire you. For those who have a hard time finding inspiration, I'll be posting about what may inspire you, every week at least once.
