Goodbye, so long

Originally I wrote this poem about a friends relationship. Though actually all of us may have had these feelings.

At first everything seems great. You start making plans together and it seems that you will be together forever. At least that's what you thought. In the end things don't always work out as you hoped and then you'll need to accept the fact that the love is gone.
 







Goodbye, so long

She wrote me those simple words
Though it sounded absurd
I didn't care
Knew I wouldn't have to fear
Those feelings coming near

She smiled, so lovely
I thought baby, you and me
We could be
So much more
But sometimes I'm not sure

Life feels like a lie
I don't even know why
But all I can do, is try
Try to understand love that is meant, to be

Fly away, feel free
Can't you see
We were meant to be

Colourfull skies
Bright lights
All days long
Baby, you make feel so strong
And eventhough we sometimes don't get along
We always make up
Don't give up
Because it's a new day!

I feel alive
With you by my side
Perhaps later on as my bride
The one to whom I confide
Every little secret I poses
No more, no less

Wish you the best
As we both move on
Say stay strong
My lady, my baby
All you used to be
Though now you're actually free

With each step
I think back
Of the times we had
Of all the good and bad
Deep within I even feel sad

That's just the way it is
We all move on
